Long, Scary Night
We are currently admitted to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital.
Yesterday after Ava Nichol's nap at 1130 she woke up and she was really unstable and kept falling down but I chalked it up to her still being tired. Fast forward to bed time. DH had gotten her to sleep but then we heard her playing so we went in and got her and I was rocking her. All of the sudden she went stiff and her eyes started darting back and forth. It was so scary I screamed for DH. She came back to and DH took her but then she did it again with him and she was unresponsive. The fear in DH's voice was terrifying for me. She then was playing with her music table and she fell down and it happened again.
So we packed up and headed to the ER. They did a cat scan and found nothing but she had another episode for the triage nurse and then another one for the ER doctor. They sent us to the nearest children's ER and they took blood and urine which both came back normal. She got stuck 3 times for her IV it was terrible and I was bawling the whole time. The on call neurologist admitted her to keep an eye overnight and now we are waiting to do a video eeg and see where to go from there.
We finally got a room to sleep in at 4am and they woke us up at 730 to tell us about the eeg and to wake her up because they want her to sleep for the eeg. I am emotionally and physically exhausted but we have a long day ahead of us.

My sister had TIAs (mini strokes) when she was a child. It sounds a lot like what AN was doing last night. Did they rule those out?
